Dance With the Devil opens with thyme oil, masculine, woody and green, like fresh sprigs against warm skin. The heart unfolds in deep floral tension, rose de Mai and Isparta rose absolutes turn rich and wine-dark, jasmine sambac absolute brings narcotic floral warmth, while violet leaf, iris and geranium cut through with a cool toned soft metallic elegance. The base is smouldering and intimate, ceremonial incense meets lanolin, worn leather, tobacco and sandalwood, before ciste, Peru balsam, benzoin Siam and cinnamon bark seal the composition in resinous spicy warmth. Oud, cypriol, patchouli, gurjun balsam and oakmoss cast a darker refined shadow, lifted by exalting musks and modern woody ambers.
