Volume 7: Leather Base

As there currently is no leather extract available on the market suitable for perfumery, this formula has been constructed to safely recreate a rich, and authentic worn leather accord using select aroma-chemicals and natural extracts. At the heart of this composition lies Safraleine, a material recognized for its warm, leathery, and saffron-like character, serving as the quintessential building block for leather accords.

To complement and complexify this core, Butyl Quinoline Secondary is used, providing a sharper, greener leather facet that enhances the impression. These two materials form the foundation, which is further embellished with carefully chosen phenolic, leathery, woody, and animalic notes to impart depth and realism.

The resulting base is a naturalistic, richly textured interpretation of worn leather, delivering a sophisticated and true-to-life leather experience suitable for a wide range of perfumery applications.
