The zest of life
Starting with all peel and sun at first, Amalfi lemon and its petitgrain, cedrat, bergamot, green mandarin, and tangerine layered until the citrus feels almost three-dimensional: zest, pith, and the green snap of leaves and stem. Elemi threads through with a bright resinous shimmer, keeping it airy rather than sugary.
Then the grove warms and the story turns human. Lemon blossom brings a creamy, narcotic pollen-lit softness; rose de mai and Isparta rose feel like skin brushed by petals, never venturing far enough to be a bouquet. Maté adds a quiet, bitter-tea intimacy and ginger flickers like heat under linen, while cabreuva wood anchors it in clean, aromatic grain.
The base settles into a mélange of precious sandalwood, fuzzy mimosa, musks, and ambered woods; oakmoss and patchouli giving shade, labdanum and benzoin a faint golden resinous glow.
