The untameable fury of the storm
Opening like cold sea water hitting wet stone, Sicilian green mandarin and Calabrian bergamot cut sharp, mandarin petitgrain bitter-green, with juniper berry snapping like crushed needles underfoot.
Then the coastline takes over: a volcanic briny sea-spray accord surges in, mineral and metallic, threaded with clary sage’s dry austerity. Salted fig adds an unexpected dried flesh-and-seed rich sweetness, while cypriol and ciste bring smoke, tar, and sun-blackened resin. De mai and Isparta appear as wind-torn petals caught in the storm.
The drydown is pure elements: sea salt and ambergris for that cold, animal-mineral lift; seaweed absolute for depth; aged driftwood and woody ambers for splintered warmth. Volcanic sand and decalepis leave a gritty, dark finish.

"A black cove cut from basalt, sand the colour of wet ash, and a horizon soldered to a hard, pewter sky. The first burst of rain comes sideways, stitching sea to shore. The wind climbs and holds, a wind sharp enough to lift the breath from your chest. Waves rear and fold with blunt force, tearing foam into white threads that vanish across the wet ashen sand. Driftwood snaps, kelp whips flat, and the undertow drags a rattle from the pebbles as if testing the edge of the land.
