The wind climbs and holds, a wind sharp enough to lift the breath from your chest. Waves rear and fold with blunt force, tearing foam into white threads that vanish across the wet ashen sand. Driftwood snaps, kelp whips flat, and the undertow drags a rattle from the pebbles as if testing the edge of the land.
